The Muslim world faces some of the greatest injustices of our time. Age-old problems such as persecution, severe poverty, and slavery continue to plague many. Technological, political, and even economic changes haven’t solved these issues.
We know that Jesus is the only solution. So, Frontiers workers take the Gospel to the least-reached Muslim peoples because following Jesus changes everything. He offers freedom that can’t be found in anyone or anything else.
Freedom from Sin and Death
All have sinned, and the wages of that sin is death. Yet Jesus died in our place, and His triumphant resurrection brings freedom from sin and death to all who repent and believe in Him.
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
– Romans 8:1–2
Freedom from Fear and Uncertainty
Islam calls Muslims to abide by rules and practices in the hope—but never certainty—of earning salvation. Jesus invites His followers simply to abide in Him, not depending on their own good deeds, but on His perfect and completed work on the cross. His gift of grace brings freedom from fear and doubt and assures salvation to all who trust in Him alone.
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
– 1 John 5:12–13
Freedom to Forgive
Parts of the Muslim world suffer under hostile regimes, and conflicts within modern memory have led many to anger and bitterness. But the Holy Spirit empowers Christ’s followers to forgive others as they’ve been forgiven. As Muslim-background believers extend this forgiveness, they see restoration to broken relationships, healing in hurt families, and unity among peoples.
“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
– John 8:36
Freedom to Love and Serve
Jesus’ great love gives His children the freedom to love others more than themselves. Just as this compels Frontiers workers to go to the least-reached places to share the Gospel, it also propels Muslim-background believers to care for those in their own families and neighborhoods.
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
– Galatians 5:13
Freedom to Change
When Muslims turn to Jesus, the Holy Spirit dwells in their hearts, freeing them from their old selves and transforming them into the image of Christ. This inward change radiates outward, altering lives, families, and nations. Jesus changes everything.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
– 2 Corinthians 3:17
Orar:
- Ask God to open the hearts of Muslim men and women to the Gospel, so that they will eagerly seek Jesus and the freedom that only He offers.
- Pray that God will use Muslim-background believers to fulfill the Great Commission and start disciple-making movements that will spread true freedom across the Muslim world.
- Praise the Lord for the incredible freedom that He offers to all peoples!
