The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. —Psalm 34:17
Afghanistan is home to more than 39 million Muslims and is one of the least-reached places on earth. Since the overthrow of the government on August 15, 2021, many tens of thousands of Afghans have fled to other nations for refuge. Most Afghans who remain in country face an uncertain future. All are in urgent need of prayer.
Here’s how you can pray:
Pray for Afghan believers to remain strong in their faith in Jesus, experience peace in their hearts, and not lose hope. Ask God to protect them and keep them from harm.
Pray for refugees, newly displaced by this crisis—to find provision for practical needs and stability amid chaos.
Ask the Lord to use this crisis to draw those who are weary to find rest and peace in Christ alone.
Pray for great numbers of Afghan men, women, and children to turn to the Lord and be saved. (Isaiah 45:22)
In addition to prayer, both those leaving and those staying in Afghanistan will have practical needs. Frontiers knows from experience that these often include food and supplies for refugees and displaced people, local-language Bibles and media resources, and aid for believers who have lost everything.
We are working with our teams and experienced partners in the US and in Afghanistan’s neighboring countries to determine the best ways to respond to the crisis. To be fully prepared to make a difference, we’re asking you to be part of the relief effort with a financial gift to Frontiers’ Afghan Relief Fund.
We have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those facing devastation and unimaginable sorrow in the wake of calamity. Thank you for your prayers and generous support.
