We followed Rahima down a narrow dirt path that led from a busy market street to a small concrete house. Stepping onto the porch, she opened the door for us.
“Welcome!” she said as she gestured for my teammate Jessica and me to step inside.
Rahima spread out a rug for us to sit on in the middle of the room. Jessica and I settled down, both of us excited for our first Bible study with our new friend who we had met in the market the week before.
“I’m going to go invite my neighbor to come and read God’s Word with us!”
Rahima started to sit down with us. But then she stood up straight.
“Wait!” she said. “I’m going to go invite my neighbor to come and read God’s Word with us!”
She sped out the door, returning shortly with her neighbor. We welcomed the new woman and began the study.
As we do in every Bible study with Muslims, we started off by asking, “What are you thanking God for today?”
Since this was our first study with Rahima and her neighbor, Jessica shared first to model a spirit of gratitude. She said she was thankful to have met Rahima so that we could read God’s Word together.
Then Rahima spoke. She gushed with thanksgiving to God for the opportunity to study the Bible. No one had ever offered her the chance to learn about God and to grow closer to Him. She shared her joy that her neighbor could join us. And she said she felt excited to tell others what she was about to learn in the Word.
She gushed with thanksgiving to God for the opportunity to study the Bible.
Since that first study, Rahima has studied the Bible with us several more times. And each time, she brings a new neighbor or friend to join us.
God is working in her heart and drawing her to Jesus. We’re praying that as she grows in faith, she will open the door for many other Muslims to hear and respond to the Gospel.
- Please pray that Rahima will treasure God’s Word, grow in knowledge of Scripture, and become a woman of faith in Christ.
- Pray for the Word to take root in her life and bear much fruit as she shares it with her Muslim friends, family members, and neighbors.
- Praise God for sending Frontiers teams to share Jesus with Muslims who’ve never heard the Gospel, and ask Him to raise up more laborers to go to the least-reached places.
Through a simple prayer for transformation, God saved one man’s family and used him to start a movement to Christ among his people.
